Is Mexican food in your future with the pulled pork you are cooking? We made a sauce the other day that is perfect to pour on a pork shoulder right before you wrap it.
This sauce gives that pork a flavorful spicy kick. It’s like an easier version of carnitas.
Ingredients-
- 1 can of chiles in adobo sauce
- Juice and pulp of one orange
- Juice of one lime
- Juice of one lemon
- Handful of cilantro leaves and stems
- 4 cloves garlic
- Salt
- Pepper
Combine ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth. Add a half cup of water and stir well.
Smoke a pork shoulder until temperature reaches 160*. Place pork in an aluminum pan. Pour sauce over the top of the pork. Wrap tightly in foil and return to grill.
Continue cooking until pork hits temperature. Let rest for at least 1/2 an hour, then shred and serve. Works great for tacos, nachos, etc.
