Made with crispy Safeway Tater Puffs and Sweet Potato Puffs, this dish is a breeze to prepare. All you need is a portable Traeger Tailgater grill, a hot rotisserie chicken from the Safeway deli, and a variety of toppings to make a tailgate-worthy spread. Whether you’re firing up the Traeger at home or in a parking lot, these tater puff nachos are a guaranteed win!

About Totchos

Totchos have become a go-to for gameday snacks, and for good reason. They’re easy to customize, fun to eat, and the perfect handheld food for a crowd. The Gameday Tater Puff Nacho Bar on the Traeger takes this concept to the next level by offering two types of crispy tater puffs—Safeway’s classic Tater Puffs and their Sweet Potato Puffs. By cooking them on the Traeger Tailgater, you’ll get that perfect smoky finish, making these nachos even better than the traditional kind.

Inspiration for This Recipe

As a busy dad and teacher in Colorado, I’m always looking for ways to simplify gameday snacks without sacrificing flavor. The inspiration behind this Gameday Tater Puff Nacho Bar on the Traeger was to create something that’s easy to set up, portable for tailgating, and packed with flavor. Using Safeway products like Tater Puffs and rotisserie chicken makes this meal not only convenient but also perfect for gameday gatherings in the backyard or parking lot.

Cooking Process

The Gameday Tater Puff Nacho Bar on the Traeger couldn’t be easier to prepare. We started by cooking the Safeway bacon on the Traeger Tailgater at 350°F until crispy. After that, we spread out the Safeway Tater Puffs and Sweet Potato Puffs on a cookie sheet and cooked them according to the package directions, letting the Traeger do its magic. While the puffs cooked, we shredded the Safeway rotisserie chicken and heated up the queso. With everything prepped, we set up a nacho bar with all the toppings, so everyone could build their own custom totchos.
