Father’s Day is just about two weeks away, which means now is the time to grab your gifts for the dads in your life. My wife and I are having twins in August, so this is my “last” unofficial Father’s Day (dogs count, right?). We’re pretty excited for the big change ahead, and wanted to share some of our favorite things that would be great gifts.
I have four custom blends made in partnership with Spiceology, and they just re-launched with updated names and labels– and the fourth one is now on the market. You can get the big bottles (about 20oz each) or smaller bottles (4oz each), and they make wonderful gifts.
Seasonings- Garlic Junkie, Smoke Junkie, Brunch Junkie and Coffee Junkie-
I think that a high-quality, accurate digital probe thermometer is an essential piece of successful backyard grilling and BBQ. I rely on my thermometers from Thermoworks for producing perfectly-cooked meals every time.
The Smoke allows you to have multiple probes, a remote with a big range and super accuracy for long cooks. I also love the Thermapen, which I use everyday.
I have a big variety of knives that are in my usual rotation for grilling and BBQ. But the ones I have from Dalstrong are particular favorites. They’re comfortable to hold, easy to use and hold their sharpness for a long time.
A slicer, a boning knife and a chef’s knife are three that I highly recommend every BBQ-er have on hand.
You have probably seen some hype lately about Truff Sauce– it started as truffle-infused hot sauce and has recently expanded to include pasta sauce, mayo and truffle oil with amazing truffle flavor. We love all of it, and it’s the perfect decadent topping!
Mac Cutting Boards
I use Mac Cutting Boards almost exclusively in my cooking, because they work so great. You can pick up a beautiful board hand made by Bart and Josie on their website.
Snake River Farms Meat
If you follow me, you know that I love the quality and consistency of meat from Snake River Farms products. They’re just the best, and for Father’s Day, they make a great gift. Certainly a decadent treat that the whole family will enjoy! Order online for delivery right to your house.
And last but not least, my cookbook is a great Father’s Day gift. With the focus on the concept that grilling doesn’t need to be saved for just the weekend, it includes about 60 recipes that can be made for weeknight dinners and enjoyment. Drop me an email once you’ve purchased the book, and I’ll send a signed bookplate in the mail to personalize your gift. (thisjewcanque at gmail.com)
