  • Spatula (for flipping burgers)
  • Cheese slicer or knife (to slice cheddar)
  • Small mixing bowl (for burger sauce)
  • Measuring spoons (for sauce ingredients)
  • Tongs (for handling buns and patties)

Ingredients

  • For the Sliders:
  • 1 lb Great Range Ground Bison
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 6 potato rolls Safeway bakery
  • 6 slices Lucerne Mild Cheddar
  • ½ tbsp vegetable oil for griddle
  • For the Burger Sauce:

  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped pickles
  • 1 tsp pickle juice
  • For Serving:
  • Open Nature hamburger dill pickle chips
  • Signature Select Sweet Whole Gherkins
  • Signature Select Sweet Potato Fries optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the Traeger: Set your Traeger to 450°F and place a cast iron griddle inside to preheat.
  • Make the Slider Patties: Divide ground bison into 6 equal portions and shape into thin patties. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Prepare the Burger Sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayo, ketchup, chopped pickles, and pickle juice. Set aside.
  • Grill the Sliders: Lightly oil the hot griddle and place patties down. Press lightly with a spatula to sear. Grill for 4-5 minutes per side (145°F for medium-rare).
  • Melt the Cheese: Flip the patties and top each with a slice of cheddar. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until cheese melts.
  • Toast the Buns: Place potato rolls cut-side down on the griddle for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  • Assemble the Sliders: Spread burger sauce on both sides of the bun. Add a cheesy bison patty, pickles, and place the top bun on.
  • Serve Hot: Enjoy with sweet potato fries and extra gherkin pickles on the side!

Notes

Bison is leaner than beef, so avoid overcooking to keep it juicy.
Swap cheddar for pepper jack if you like a little heat!
For a crispier crust, press the patties down slightly when grilling.
