Homemade French Onion Dip with Beef Tallow Potato Chips

This creamy Homemade French Onion Dip is packed with rich caramelized onions cooked low and slow on the Pit Boss Navigator pellet grill. Made with Duke’s mayo, Garlic Junkie seasoning, cream cheese, and Swiss cheese, then served with Snake River Farms Beef Tallow Potato Chips for the ultimate backyard snack or party appetizer.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large yellow onion diced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2-3 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup Duke’s mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Junkie seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Snake River Farms Beef Tallow Potato Chips for serving

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your Pit Boss Navigator pellet grill to 325°F and place a cast iron skillet on the grill grates to preheat.
  • Add the butter to the skillet followed by the diced onions and fresh thyme sprigs.
  • Cook the onions low and slow, stirring occasionally, for 30-40 minutes until soft, golden brown, and caramelized.
  • Remove the onions from the grill and allow them to cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, Duke’s mayonnaise, and Garlic Junkie seasoning. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Fold the caramelized onions and shredded Swiss cheese into the dip mixture until evenly combined.
  • Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate for 1 hour before serving for even more developed flavor.
  • Serve with Snake River Farms Beef Tallow Potato Chips.

This dip can be made a day ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator.
