BBQ Chicken Thighs on the Traeger

With some staple pantry ingredients, you can put together a quick and delicious BBQ-inspired marinade for these chicken thighs which are then grilled on the Traeger and glazed in Southern-Style Whiskey BBQ Sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds Signature Farms bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 cup Signature Select Southern Style Whiskey BBQ sauce
  • 2 green onions
  • 1/2 cup Signature Select Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Signature Select Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Signature Select White Wine Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Signature Select Louisiana Hot Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Signature Select Dijon Mustard
  • 1/4 cup Waterfront Bistro Cocktail Sauce or ketchup

Instructions
 

  • In a pan or shallow dish, make the marinade for the chicken.
  • Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, hot sauce, mustard and cocktail sauce (or ketchup) and whisk well.
  • Add about 1/4 a cup of water and whisk until well combined.
  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel and then place them in the marinade.
  • Turn to coat.
  • Cover the pan and refrigerate the chicken for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat your Traeger grill to 325*.
  • Slice the green onions on a bias and set aside.
  • When the grill is hot, remove the chicken thighs from the marinade and place them directly on the grill.
  • Close the lid and cook the chicken for about 20 minutes.
  • Check the internal temperature and continue cooking until the temperature reaches about 135*.
  • Brush the chicken with some of the Signature Select Southern Style Whiskey BBQ Sauce.
  • Turn up the temperature of the grill to 375*.
  • When the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 170*, remove them from the grill.
  • Sprinkle the BBQ chicken thighs with green onions and the watermelon with chopped cilantro.
  • Serve and enjoy!
